In the tour de france there is this gentlemans agreement that the last day the yellow jersey is not to be attacked. So when Lance stays on his bike tomorrow(no crashes etc)you can see him already as the winner now.
Tomorrow the stage will be a stage for the sprinters for the green jersey.
A australian Mcewen has a lead of two point ovr the second and 4 point over the nbr three. So three man are still in battle, all sprinters.
Mcewen has proven to be the fastest of the three but it is gonna be very close.
Nice to see that you guys have a feeling for bicycle racing.

That's what i meant by Jan not contending tomorrow.  I think that if there were less than 1 minute seperating the two then the situation would be different.

Wow, what a race.  Did anyone see the interview with Robin Williams after the time trial on Saturday.  Robin had some very positive statements to make about the sport. 

I've really enjoyed watching this years tour.  I saw almost all of the coverage.  What an incredible event.  It truly is a great display of sportmanship, athletic ability, patriotism and pagentry. 

Think of all of the defnining moments of the tour.  I found myself respecting and appreciating various riders for their skills and tenacity.

There was Beloki's unfortunate crash.  How about the day that Vironque (sp?) killed in in the Alps.

Ulrich's slow ride into contention and mind blowing 1st individual time trial.

Think all the way back to the team time trail. US Postal, poetry in motion followed by Pena in the yellow jersey by :01.  First Columbian ever in the yellow jersey.

Tyler Hamilton's ride was truly inspirational.

Vinakoura is unbelievable.

When Lance went down, it was Mayo who ran over him.  He too, got up and finished strong.  His stage win was impressive as well.

Two things:  1.  ESPN has been running their Sport Century profile on Lance Amstrong over the past week.  Look for the listings to see a rebroadcast.  2.  Don't forget to tune into OLN on Thursday night for the defining moments broadcast with interviews from Lance.

So, what now?  What do you think Lance will say are these factors that no one knows about.  Will Lance go for a record 6th victory after the difficulty he faced on this tour?  Or, will he bow out at age 31?

Mayo is also the person Lance almost took out when his foot came out of the pedal. I was very impressed with how Mayo kept his concentration. :thumb:

Great job Lance, You da Man! U.S. Postal wining the team time trial ended up being HUDGE this year and its the first time they won. This was an extreamly exciting tour to watch and I look forward to his attempt to go for the record next year. I would love to see Tyler back in blue at the helm of the team, that would be awesome. I cant wait to see the review with Lance on the 31, what time dose that start?

From the post race interviews it sounds as if Lance is going to make a try at it next year.

Maybe something will be revieled Thursday night.&nbsp; I thought that i heard that Lance was going to do some of the commentary.

Anyone seen the review last night? I cought parts of it as I was cooking out on the grill and was in and out. Looks like he said he had disentary or someting from an infection he got from a fall just before the tour. Man he talks some smack about Ulrich too huh? sounds like he is trying to get in his head for next year already :)

I heard about the interview. Supposedly he had some new shoes too that were sending pains into his hips or something. Maybe his back. That's all he has to do for the next year is get ready for the next tour. I'm trying to decide if my two year old could survive the flight out there for the next one. That would be awesome!

Yeah he wants me to hang with him, Im supposed to join the American League of Bicycleist but I got a cool little color poster to hang up at work.
Thaks Lance! Maybe Ill come down to the lone star state and we will knock a few beers back after I kick your butt on a ride, mind you Ill be on the WR 400 :) .

there were a lot of comments about the dangers of the road, especially black-top melting in 100+F temperatures. That is nothing compared to what it was early in the history of the Tour; see this pic from 1928, the rider is Nicholas Frantz of Luxembourg who won 1927 and 28:
