Is that from Robert Heinlein, or is it older than that? I know I have read variations on that line in several of his books.

Another good one from RH:
TANSTAAFL, or There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch

I think this is about how it goes--a line from a Goo Goo Dolls song:
"Scars are souvenirs you'll never lose" There are a ton of great quotes from songs, far too many to list.

I think this one was attributed to Liz Taylor, but I'm not sure: "Why should I marry and make one man miserable when I can stay single and make many men miserable?" (misquoted I'm sure but it was close)

See my sig line for one of my favorites :p

Not sure, I had it on a blacklight poster in my room, back in the early 70's :)

I also like this one. "Scars are like tatoos with better stories." Not sure where i heard that.

I rember reading on this site something that went like this:
"When people get older, they always wish they were younger, but yet every monday, we cant wait for it to be the weekend."

I think about that all the time when i'm at work and it bothers me sometimes that time can just fly by without really noticing...

A few of my favorites

-- Ayn Rand
America's abundance was not created by public sacrifices to the common good, but by the productive genius of free men who pursued their own personal interests and the making of their own private fortunes.
-- Ayn Rand
The idea that 'the public interest' supersedes private interests and rights can have but one meaning: that the interests and rights of some individuals take precedence over the interests and rights of others.

-- Ronald Reagan
Politics is not a bad profession. If you succeed there are many rewards, if you disgrace yourself you can always write a book.
-- Ronald Reagan
How do you tell a communist? Well, it's someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It's someone who understands Marx and Lenin.
-- Ronald Reagan
Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
-- Ronald Reagan
You can tell a lot about a fellow's character by the way he eats jelly beans.

-- Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965)
Everyone has his day and some days last longer than others.
-- Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965)
The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.
-- Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965)
Kites rise highest against the wind; not with it.
-- Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965)
The price of greatness is responsibility.
-- Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965)
I like a man who grins when he fights.

And one I often say ...
Nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care.
I wish I knew who said that ... read in in a magazine many years ago
