Hello All,

I recenlty got myself a 2002 XR400 and I love it (of course). The one thing I don't love about the bike is how quickly I seem to be burning thorugh the rear tires! I know this is an age old problem, but I've been reading a lot about these new dual-sport tires that are knobby like motocross tires, but made of a harder rubber so
they wear slower. Has anyone tried any of these tires?

If so, how are they on the dirt? I don't care if they are DOT apporved or not, I'm just looking for a tire that doesn't wear out quite so quickly when ridden on pavement or rocks, yet still performs well in dirt.

You can't beat a Mich. S12 on the back. Those things wear like iron. Just remember the sizing on a S12 is 20 more than standard tires, so a 110 is really a 130 in the S12.

i run an IRC rear tire and it is the best wearing tire i have ever had. Great purchase and i am very pleased with the hook0up the tire has.
The S12 M12 i have only heard good things about these also. good hookup and long lasting.
