Looking at a 05 Crf250

Hey I just sold my two stroke and want to get a 250f. I've heard that yammis last longer (valves) than other brands, Is this true? How are the 05 Hondas. My dads friend said he would sell me a 05 crf250 for $3000.00 its all stock expect pro circuit exhaust. what do you guys think of this.
