Looking for a used CR250, what's a good year?

What's a good year to shoot for on a used CR250? I'd rather not get anything over 3 years old. I've been searching through some old reviews trying to find info and I'm looking for more personal opinions. My local Honda dealer has a new 01 on the floor. What's a fair price for it? Thanks,
