Guys,

I'm near Pasadena (NE LA), and I'm looking for semi-close spots to go play on my DRZ.

Is there a web site that happens to have a map of riding spots in SoCal? I've found a site that lists riding areas, but it's all text. Being a newbie to California, references to small cities and county/state roads are still a bit vague to me!

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Brandon

Hey Brandon, I live south and east of Pasadena (N of 10 & W of 605). Send me a PM and I'll let you know of some close (relatively) places. The closest is Rincon our of Azusa canyon. 50 mile round trip fireroad loop in the SG mountains. You need a free permit though. Next closest in Baldy Mesa / Phelan. It's at the 138 & 15 fryways. Also there's Silverwood/Arrowhead in the same area. After that it's 1.5 hours from home to El Mirage, Gorman or Stoddard. El Mirage and Stoddard are desert riding, Gorman is in the mountains and has a lot of VERY CROWDED (on weekends) trails and some killer back country singletrack that's not so crowded.

There's lots of places to ride if you want to go 2 hours out. PM me for further info.

Hi Brandon, I found a few maps/sites that might interest you. If you send me a PM I'll give you some more specific areas that are close. (Some of these are a ways away) Good riding. Bill

Bill,

I tried to PM and e-mail you, but it says you've chosen to not receive them and/or aren't allowed to receive them. :flame:

Thanks for the links! I'm in northern El Monte, just northwest of the 10/605 interchange kinda near the airport.

I've been to El Mirage (last weekend) and Lucerne Valley (Cougar Buttes, 3 weeks ago) with some fellow ThumperTalk riders. Both were great rides, and I look forward to riding them again. :yeehaw:

I'm looking for something to help "scratch the itch" when I don't have all day to devote to riding, or don't want to drive 1-2 hours with the truck/gear. I've heard there are some fire/dirt/trail roads off of the Crest, or elsewhere in the mtns a few miles north. I'd love to find something nearby, or even some of the dirt stuff off of Mulholland.

I've got an '00 DRZ E model. It's dual-sported and tagged in MO (I moved to LA recently), so I can ride to it local areas w/o having to haul a bunch of stuff. I'm interested in some good dual sport riding, and just "wandering about". I also have a Honda VFR streetbike for street-based riding and touring.

Thanks,

Brandon
