I am going to get a set of Michelin M-12s for my KDX. I remember reading a post that these tires run narrow and some riders were getting the 110's instead of the 100's in the rear. I could not find the old posts by searching. Can anyone give me some direction here?

Michelin M-12 100/100/18 or 110/100/18 for the rear:confused: ?

Thanks!

I run a 130/80-18 S-12 on my 99 200. About the same width as a Dunlop 110/100-18.

Michelin run odd sizes with shorter sidewalls.

Thanks NDRO,

Why the strange sizes?

If a 130/80/18 is like a 110/100/18 then is a 120/80/18 like a 100/100/18?

What about a 120/90/18??

The reason i ask is that the cost is so much different between the 130's & 120's (about $20).

Yup, the 120 is about the same as everyone elses 100. Why?? Beats me.... I like them and they wear like iron.

I find it odd that you found such a big change in price between the 120 and 130.. I checked at http://www.accwhse.com/michelin.htm#Tires dirt and the difference is $3.00 between the two sizes on the M-12 and only $1.00 on the S-12.

I looked and I won't look again.... :scream:

About $7 to $25 higher that Motorcycle Acc. Warehouse.

TireExpress wants $59.95 for the tire I have, a S-12 130/80-18 and MAW is $52.95.

Unless you really like TireExpress, I would look elsewhere. I buy from MAW because they have UPS tracking, good prices, and they haven't burnt me yet.

Now that I look, it's only a $3 savings on the M-12 in the 120/90-18 that you were looking at. I would (and do) go to the 130 width and have had great luck with the Michelin 130s.
