I have a 2000 yz 125 and the stock tread 100/90-19 and I know michelin run different and the yamaha shop said a 110/80-19 is what it needs, but I can not find it anywhere. The closest I can find is 120/80-19.Would it be to big of a difference or will it work?I seriously am wanting to try out the s-12's or m-12's. :)
Hey Nathan I think those tires will fit our bikes :) The last number of the size, the 19, is the width of the rim...I think  , and should fit since that is the width of our rims. The worst that could happen is it be too big but I think they will fit our bikes :silly: . I'm still pondering over which model to buy....the S-12s or the M-12s....decisions, decisions
Don't buy the 120, go with the 130 size. It will be alittle bigger, but I had my friend buy the 120 for his 00 yz125 and its not 1/2 the tire that my 130 is. The 120 version of the S12 has 1/4 less knobbies on it and its a waste of money. Go with the 130 size if it will fit.
i have a 2000 yz125 also, i run a bridgestone M70 in the rear and soon to be a bridgestone M59 they are great tires for intermediate-soft terrain and they offer great traction
Me and Nathan were looking for the best tires that would last us the longest, since our Dunlop 752's didn't last too long. He went ahead and bought the Michelin M-12 last night since Rocky Mountain MC didn't have the S-12 in stock. Also the 120 is the only size they carry that will fit our rims.
racer_x4 is correct, the 120 don't last as long because the knobs aren't as thick. if you ride in any mud or grass, i wouldn't recommend the M-12. the s-12 holds up pretty damn good in rocks and hardpack. some buddies and i just got back from colorado for a week long riding trip. i bought a m-12 for my bike and my buddy stuck with an s-12. his tire held up just as well as mine. i run an m-12 on the front everywhere and love it.
Yzeater tryed and tryed to find those tires...nobody had them in stock. :(
I got tired of looking and didn't want to wait for rockmountain to get the s-12 or the Maxxis back in stock(they told me July something) so I just bought the m-12.
If yall could see the tire I have on there now, you would see why any new tire would be better than what I have now.
Yea cause you stick your front wheel against a tree and burn out on your concrete until the smoke makes you faint, no wonder you need tires so bad, you waste 'em  :) I had a Maxxis tire once, like the C995 or whatever it was called, and it wore down in half a month it seemed, it was pretty crappy, and then I had that same tire on my YZ when I bought it and it blew a big hole on me so I don't ever buy Maxxis anymore. :ugg:
racer_x4 - although i don't ride on tracks hardly at all, i believe the s-12 would be an excellent choice for anything but totally hardpack. that's all that the guy who rides for our local ktm shop uses on his bike.
yzeater - i only pay 56$ for my michelins, and i don't see any reason to waste more time, money, or traction on finding a better tire than these michelins. i've used many tires in the past (dunlops, pirelli's, bridgestones) and nothing even compares to the traction and wear of the s-12 on soft - intermediate terrain.
