Buzz man, we try to be on the trail by 9:00. However, this could change depending on arrival times and the weather. rick shaw is great at predicting the weather.
I can assure you that at 45, you will not be the oldest rider in our group. The youngest at our last ride was 16. However, he gained the nickname "Digger" due to the number of crashes. I hope you can join us!!!!

Buzzman, you'll be in good company age-wise! I'll probably be doing the clean-up crew duties on my WR400, and you're more than welcome to join me.

Hopefully this time I won't end up with bad leg cramps due to overheating like last time.

Mark, Are you boys coming to the Trailfest?
I have a couple of nephews who have graduated from minibikes and they live near Moorestown. I went riding with them last weekend and I did not have to wait for them too long at the road crossings. I will wait to invite them to see if your boys are coming and see if Digger's bike is back together. :p

Sr. Riding Team

Mark, I was extrememly disapointed with your post attempting to assume my sweep riding position on the Trailfest:confused:

As one of the more mature riders, I felt it was my obligation to sweep ride for those who wanted to ride like Badgerman or find their lost youth like Digger!

Looking forward to another great ride in October.

Happy pumpkin chasin' until then::p

Re: Sr. Riding Team

Ooops!!! I certainly didn't want you to think you were sweep-riding with me!! I certainly saw where you were at - right behind Badgerman! That new pumpkin sure went well. I've got a Katoom 400 on my next-bike shopping list when I can sell my WR.

Just a hint - Badgerman will be able to join the "senior citizen" class by the time this ride rolls around :p

Mike, I'm going to try to get my boys to go along. My oldest (16), we won't have to wait for - he usually is only a couple clicks behind Badgerman when we ride with him. My 13 year old is a little more "unreliable", as he likes riding, but not as much as me. One deciding factor for him - were your nephews going to ride on the trail or would they be happier doing the trails around the campground?

Thanks guys for volunteering to ride sweep, Whew I woun't feel so lonely back there. ;) I still don't know how I tend to end up in the front end of the pack (maybe its the short cuts). I can't wait for the ride and fellowship that we shared last time.

Uh-oh, the CAT is outa the bag………….four decades of fast living! Oh well, hopefully longevity will bring wisdom. If not, I at least hope I retain the ability to bounce and/or heal quickly!

I am trying very hard to keep the entire weekend open despite offers to go fishing and bird hunting. I don’t do much riding this time of year since Michigan has a severe over-population of large salmonoids and small game that must be dealt with.

I ran into some nice fellars on trail last weekend and I invited them to join us. Craig is planning to go and there are a couple other individuals I plan to invite. It should be a good time.

Badgerman is 40?????

And I still can not keep up with him.......:(

We have our sweep crew, our weatherman (rick shaw) and we have our leader (Badgerman). The details are coming together. I am looking forward to it!!!

Mark, the two nephews will ride on the clubgrounds only when they can find no one to champerone a trail ride. They prefer the ORV trails.

Hey Brian, I'm not volunteering to sweep ride but that's were I ended up on the last swelterfest ride:think

And besides, the only time I saw you was at the crossroads and gas stops!!!

May be the oldest guys should start first??? If that's true maybe I should start at 8:30 to give me an extra half hour's head start:confused:

Badgerman, you don't look a day over 39!!! Welcome to the dark side.

Any other sweep volunteers???

Swelterfest? LMAO! Let's hope this next one doesn't become "trail-frost 2001"!

Incidentally, I am not 40 yet! I still have a few weeks left to be virile, vigorous, and potent!

BTW, I thought I already joined the dark side when I bought that blue bike.

Mark,

Maybe you could front me a hit, I would like to give it a try! Luckily, they just eliminated the deductable on our prescription coverage at work! What timing eh?

I am not sure yet if Ian is going or not. He's not leaving his room until he gets his HOMEWORK DONE! LOL!

King Spode Trophy

Hey Walkman, we do have a King Spode trophy. At trailfest I you left before I could present it to you. During your most recent trip to Moorestown your luck had not chnaged and I did not feel right giving you the trophy at that time.
We will have to have the trophy presentation at the beginning of Trail Fest II and begin taking nominations for the new winner.

Oh oh! I better not take a spin in my tennis shoes and shorts then! Or I better not even think about testing Dennis's bike either...last time I jinxed it. :scream: I believe I win the Senior Citizen Rider award so all you old guys will have to exceed 46 years old to ride the super senior class with me. I can keep badgerman in sight at all the gas stops. :D Alan Randt eats Bagels with peanut butter on them and he's real fast so I know what I'm having for breakfast!

As I recall the nominations for King Spode were Fred T for his unprotected ride (at least he wore a helmet), Brandon (aka Digger) for his many falls - one in front of the camera, but no one could beat Walkman - he brought two bikes to the ride and never got off the clubgrounds. He thinks he solved the problem by buying a new bike, BUT.......

THE SAGA CONTINUES

i'm starting to really enjoy this misery, after spending hours making a almost factory looking wiring harness, following directions very close and hooking up the lighting system, I HAVE NO LIGHTS:scream: !!!! it seems that i have no power coming from the stator that i had PROFESSIONALLY installed, that also means the bike will not perform as intended due to the new electronic garbage all over the engine:scream: :scream: . big jim is suggesting that i build model cars, but due to the many hazards involved in that, i'm considering basket weaving in my own 4x4 padded cell, errr i mean room. bye

Joseph Lucas, Prince of Darkness

Walkman...

As an old (60 in March) Electronic Warfare Technician who cut his teeth on Matchless, Norton, AJS, BSA and Triumph motorcycles, I can highly recommend Lucas ignition and lighting devices...

At least you knew that when it quit (and it always did), you could go to the nearest barbed wire fence, steal a foot or two and re-wind the stator and usually get it going again...

Hope you feel better now, W

Blessings on your search for Light...

The Old Man,

Mike Sr.

Hey Guys,

Just which sections are you planning on riding? A couple of us are going somewhere that weekend. We are thinking of going to MN but depending on the weather we could attend your event.

How whooped out is that area? Last summer I rode in the area around the Big O and Evert and could not beleive just how bad the whoops had gotten.:(

Any extra info that you could post would be welcome.

Thanks

Layton, the plan is to ride part of the Cross State Connector (North Missaukee Trail) and parts of the Higgins Lake loop. I have not ridden the trail recently. However, we are going to do what we can to avoid as many whoops as possible.
It would be nice if you could join us next month.
