Good photo's--- Yeah I looked for the blue shade on the hill and saw a bunch of them and thought to myself oh man this is going to be work going to each one and try to find you like a billy goat :) My eye scan didnt pick out a DRN t-shirt--basically I got lazy and thought I might catch your T-shirt trackside somewhere. Anyway what a show all had a good time-- man they are sooo fast!! My son got some good signatures and a high five from RC. Daughter shook hands with Travis and talked a bit she was excited. I have been to INDY/CART races and I have got to admit that the racing at Millville was more entertaining to watch-- not quite the corporate bucks yet but it is getting there. The intoxicating smell is it the race gas or oil that they run almost like the sweet smell of klotz but not the same--god I loved that.

I kept an eye for you also but no luck. I was pretty much all over the place both days so I am really surprised we didn't cross paths somewhere.
We were set up in the mountain goat range behind the burger wagon. As you faced the hill from the tunnel we were to the right. Next year we will figure out something better

Oldguy:
Was that Vuillemin (934) behind Pastrana (1)?...or did you do some trick photography? ... mixed class?... may be practice?
I bet the kids were proud to talk to the elite! great pics !

Good eye Pokie

I had 2 almost identical pics and scanned the wrong one. Yes that is Vuillemin behind him- it was practice on Saturday. The one I thought I scanned was same corner Moto1 and Travis almost overshot the corner because of braking bumps and if he had gone 2 feet further I would have ridden my first national planted firmly on his bars:scream:
My excuse I was scanning pics at 11pm after working outside all day- and I stand by that excuse:think

... may be Vuillemin would do better in the 125 class? ok, enough Frenchy bashing; I wish I could ride that well! or as well as any of the French legion.

thanks again for the pics..... makes me wanna travel to one more National before the season ends?.... like Steel City!? (Okie and I loved Washougal, a marvelously fast track in beautiful NW scenery)

Nice pics, oldguy. It's cool that you can get so chummy with the riders. I gotta hit a National.

Julius, if there is any way for you to go to a national GO. the difference between a National and Supercross is night and day. SX is all about the show and commercialism wheras a National is about racing.
The riders are very accessible both in the pits and out walking the track. Thekid and I spent quite a bit of time talking with different riders (Brown, Huffman, Vuillemin, Ferry, Langston, Hofmaster, and quirte a few others). This was not the hi can you sign this but discussoins about them and their bikes. Last year at Troy thekid was on crutches from a crash 3 days before and Travis Pastrana actually sat down in the infield and talked to him about riding and injuries for 10 minutes. The memories of meeting these guys for him makes the trips worth it.
If you can get up here next year we will see to it that you do Millville the way it should be done

I attended a 500/125 National at Burnt Hickory (close to Atlanta) in '76 or '77. Marty Smith was my hero at that time, and that was my only opportunity to see him race. I don't remember much about the race, but i did get close enough to the track to get roosted.

I'm gonna go to Delmont next week, barring catastrophe.

I may have to take you up on the Millville offer. That's a VERY cool track.

Hey Old Guy I was there too and saw the blue tarps but the kids were not behaving so the wife banned me from taking a tour (I did get to the beer tent a couple times though :) ) My kids had a disposable camera and took all our pics for the event, there is one of the hill you were on too, I guess it was to show the crowd? It is kinda cool seeing their point of view, the jumps and ruts look a lot bigger!

Sorry for not hooking up with you...maybe next time.
