...ask the moderator, but use PM or email. It has always worked for me.:)

Anybody know how much time it takes the mods to stay on top of posts?

Anybody think the mods want to / should spend MORE time explaining why a post was deleted? Which of course is followed by 4-5 back and fourth emails, "it was not wrong", "yes it was", you are wrong", "no I'm not"... ????

If a post is deleted, there is a reason. The numb-skull above was deleted for language. Again, using characters to replace a letter in a bad word, is NOT okay. I've let some of these go over the last day or two, but not posts full of this.

Yes Roostmaker, your post was removed for it's political content.

Just like always, mods and admins will not be explaining everything they do.
Now, let's get back to something that matters.

I think if KX100 had of asked why his posts were delated politely, Okie would of given him a response. Should Okie put up with this crap in his forum. I think not. Read the rules of the forum and then think about what you write.
And yes, I think there is more important things going on in the world right now than a deleted post.

Makes me feel bad when I go out and enjoy myself this weekend while families are grieving their loved ones.:(

Thanks for clearing it up Okie.
And no, I didn't e-mail anyone asking about my post.
Next time I'll use PM.

I can understand why a post can be deleted. My question is, can a post disappear because it's a good post gone bad? In other words, it starts out okay, but goes off in a undesirable direction?:silly:

When a good thread goes bad, the "offending" post will either be edited or deleted. Call it what you will, but we will not allow posts that will offend a number of our members. Points can me made without attacking Republicans or Democrats, conservatives or liberals or religious groups.

We walk a fine line on a normal basis as to what is acceptable. In general we have never allowed posts based on Religion or Politics. This is a site about riding motorcycles off-road. During this time, we will obviously allow discussions regarding the events of the 11th, but please do not try to use this to promote a political agenda. . It effects us all. We are suffering a great loss at this time and are dealing with a great deal of stress. We may not be as accommodating as usual.

I actually recieved a threat today to watch my back at DirtWeek for banning a couple of the recent kids to go off... I will promise one thing, you want no part of me right now, I am in need of some serious venting.

I will add that during this time, I suggest those that are concerned about this issue (posts) suck it up and worry about something that matters for the time being. These "my post was deleted" comments are rather petty and will grow old fast. There is no free-for-all on DRN. I'm really not in a mood to deal with it. Sorry.

I canNOT believe how upset people get over this. It's a website! If you can't behave and you get kicked off, what right does that give you to threaten people? Get a life. Go ride. I come here to B.S. with a bunch of people who share my hobby, not stir trouble, create a ruckus (intentionally anyway) or show off.

Threaten any and you threaten us all.

Just like most good Americans we are one as well. You want to mess with ANY DRN staff or DRN member ESPECIALLY at Dirt Week and you will also be messing with me and the rest. Somebody wants to play like a terrorist be prepared for the consequences.

I have to say, KX100 taking the time out, JUST FOR ME, to write a personal email, man that was really touching.

Thank you for educating me on DoS attacks, and even giving me links. <-- how can you beat that?

What a member, I'm voting for a avatar for this kid. Like I said in my reply to your email. If you don't like the heat, stay out of the fire. And buy a new bike, aren't you a little old to be riding a kids bike?

We are DRN. We stick together and protect and respect each other. We don't take crap from little kids that pretend to be something that they are not. Let's see, you are a 22 year old Senior Admin that rides a KX100. Anyone else see the humor in this? The only thing that makes any sense in your post is the 'moron' under your screen name.

(1) are you going to remove me? [/B][/QUOTE]. Yes, absolutely, no question about it, has been done before, will be done again. In fact, maybe already has been done.

Please, go back to your normal site, www.wannabearealmotorcyclerider.com, where you will be accepted without question. Most of us here really do own motorcycles and actually ride them and have little patience for those wannabees that only want to stir up some trouble. Wrong week for that.:think

From a fairly new member's perspective I can honestly say the reason that I like this Forum is the fact that it is not a free-for-all. Their are no salesmen trying to entice you into some type of online scam, no spams, no political agenda, or no racial agenda's. You have set the rules to keep all of that out so people who ride motorcycles from all walks of life, to all type of riding, and all around the world can sit back and enjoy themselves with a good group of people. Most on line forums are filled with people that want to be some one else. I think this site is the opposite. People here seem to be what the say they are, and they are not trying to hide behind some made up mock version of who they really are or what they really can do.

I have a pretty stressful job, in a pretty stressful industry, with a pretty stressful wife, with some high budget kids, and it is nice to logon a couple times during the day to hear about what we all like best. We can even talk about other hobbies or what peeves us off.

If the site was full of guy's like kx100 then I wouldn't be a member.
I'm here to read about what I like, escape the mainstream, and relax.

I thank you and all the members for providing that to me!
If I could ony drink beer at work:p

bsmith-
For the most part you are right- people here are what they appear to be.
Dirt Bike enthusiasts.

However..Ivan ( truespode) long ago brought out the true story of myself and Rich Rorich.

We are aging spinster sisters ( 98 and 95 repectively) living our lives vicaruosly thru the net - having never seen a dirt bike.
Our only true enjoyment being to randomly and without notice delette perfectly correct and acceptable posts made by
unsuspecting mini- riders.

It's our homage to Rondo Talbeot the original- "Mr Know it all"

If your not old enough to remember Rondo - and his soft, caring, and mild education of 80cc riders-
Most likely your posts will get deletted at some point in time

Also -to anyone that would be so childish as to actually threaten Okiewan at DW - over something as silly as ANY BB post :think
Please pick on someone your own size and intelligence level.
Me:confused:
Cant miss me i'm the vertically challenged "kid" on a CR500AF-or maybe a CR80 -and i dont mind falling down..rubbing is racing-
Lets play :)

I have this strange feeling that a whole lot of young lads are going to be taught some lessons in respect real soon. They will be made men of soon, real soon.
The good ones will retain what's taught them.

I've heard some of the comments about some things from the mouths of a few of our youths, and I'm convinced they have less than a clue as to what is in store for them. I suggest you young guys get your head on straight real quick. Stop thinking you know it all, because we all know less than we need to, and that for sure includes you.

Respect is something that can be forced upon you, but it means so much more when you learn it of your own will and admire it's course. A respectful man does not have to seek the respect of others, it will overwelm him.

BTW....Thanks, Okie for all that you have accomplished. And thank you for your convictions.

Hah! They wish! More like pink Mary Kay Ford Escorts if you ask me. Do I need to say what they're wearing under their skirts?:p

Someone do me a fovor at Dirtweek- check to see if any of 'em still have hair on their legs, or if they've shaved it all off. :p

(oh, I think I'll get taken behind the shed for that one)

HEY GERTRUDE, Vic (have I got a deal for YOU) Krause was the original Mr. Know It All in DB mag, although his contempt for anything associated with minis was the same :)

I didn't see any of kx100s posts before they got deleted so I have nothing to say regarding that.

But you clowns popping off about a 22 year old being too big/old for the bike need to pipe down. Gee, what about Langtown - grown men on XR100s? How 'bout one of the moderators on a hopped up TTR125?

I've met kx100 and the the kx100 fits him just fine. He's only been riding for a short while and he does pretty good on it. Maybe when he grows up he'll be able to move up to one of those fullsize TTR125s......
