Hi eric I am wanting to cut the base of the cylinder on my 04 Kx 125, in your trusty handbook you say to go .030 on the base and squish. Could I do .015 and tighten it up a little more. Is that why it is so short on the powerband because of the transfers being too tall. Would it allow for better top end if I had you widen them or not?

well i know that. I ment cut 030 off of the base and 015 on the squishband to tighten things up a little. BTW Thanks for pointing out the obvious What is a stock 125 motor for piston to squish and head clearence?

I normaly shoot for .040" , but have gone as close as .031" .
Alot of how tight you can go depends on piston / rod growth amongst other things as comp ratio and MSV
(Maximum Squish Velocity )
