This is out of today's Oregonian:

PRINEVILLE -- Crook County commisioners have approved plans to build a 600-acre motocross area about four miles from Prineville Reservoir.

Prineville Adventure Park would include a 1.8 mile motocross track, a 1.5 mile ATV track, and a .8 mile track for children.

There would be trails for mtn. biking, hiking and running, as well as an archery range and campgrounds, said developers Jason Bronson and Damon Schaefer, both of Portland.

The Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife said the park could not operate between Dec. 1 and April 1 because the site is a winter deer range. A 1,000ft buffer around the park's perimeter would minimize noise impact, a county planning report says.

Commissioners approved the plan 5-1 in Wednesday's vote.
