a few things i havnt seen mentioned in this thread-

You might be holding on to tight and not gripping the bars properly.

You should really try concentrating on gripping the bike with your knees-
cornering and elsewhere..it will save you in arm pump and blisters.

Also your hands are "just along for the ride" no death grip needed.
Its hard to describe but the grip on the bars is like a tennis racket-
the bar only touches the outside edge of your palm if your gripping correctly..no way to get blisters on the other part of your hands-
it shouldnt be touching.
i run two fingers on the levers so the only part of my hand touching the grip is the outside edge of the palm and the pinky and ring fingers lightly..and the thumb.
the flat part of your palm and area near your thumb shouldnt be touching the grip.
Sorry i cant explain it better but you would never get blisters using this method.
you use your legs to grip the bike and you really dont need your hands to hold on tightly..they just run the controls...
>shrugs<

Billy might be able to describe it better.....?

Unfotunately I can't, you are right on, and I am the worst at trying to explain how to do something correctly :( most of the time. Holding on with your knees is probably the number one improvement you can make all across the board though !
