i've been having trouble with my bike not idleing. i tryed adjusting it but it wont make a difference? it is like you almost have to have it 1/4 throttle to keep it running? i tryed cleaning the carband the reeds. i am in the process of a rebuild! could that have been the problem???

It's not going to sit there and idle away like a CRF50.

it seams like if you have it from no throttle to 1/4 throttle it will shut off and when you give a bike gas it should rev up.

p.s sorry for the lack of explaining!

I have a 1982 CR 80 I have to hold the choke up for about 1 minite before it will idle on its own. When you cleaned the carb did you take out every jet and clean everything because 1 little grain of sand could block something.
I also have a manual for my CR 80 and for the airscrew jet
the 81 is 2 turns out
the 82 is 1 1/2 turns out
the 83 id 1 3/4 turns out
the 84-85 is 1 1/2 turns out
Also is your throttle cable adjusted right. It could be too loose.
