This is the story of my weekend in Texas:

It all started out with the plan of Bswift coming through Stillwater and picking me up and heading to TX246's house in Denton so we could go to the Supercross on Saturday.

The plan was then for Evenslower (who I will refer to as Noah) to pick me up at Gene's on Sunday morning and take me to Davis, OK where my bike and riding gear would be waiting for me as I had left it at Craig_Enids.

That was the plan. It was a good plan.

The only problem was that any time "Noah" tries to bring his Ark (04 KTM 450exc) through Oklahoma we end up with rain of biblical proportions which caused the Boar's Head Enduro to be rescheduled for May 20th due to flooding.

Once word of this reached Craig and Gorp in Stillwater all plans to prepare their own bikes for riding were put on the back burner and other projects were planned for the weekend.

No problem its too wet to ride anywhere anyway right? Well real men aren't afraid of a little mud so a plan is hatched to ride Muenster.

Bswift looked worried that he was going to miss all the fun so I quickly said lets go, I have nothing better to do and can hang out in the shade and talk about riding.

Next thing you know Gene's digging around the garage rounding up extra riding gear. We get to Meunster and JMD has a pair of boots that are my size.

Cool, now if I only had a bike to ride.

Gene offers me his CR to start with so I ride a loop on it managing to get it and all my borrowed gear filthy in a water hole. "Noah" then offers me his Ark for a nice hour+ loop through Bills Woods. I bring it back with boiling gas. After taking a short break Swift offers me his YZ for another loop. The trails were sweeeeeeet!

Several others offer me their bikes also and the teasing starts about my "Factory Ride" and how I've got it made. I think their right. I could get used to this. Nothing to clean up except myself. I offered to wash their bikes if they would bring them to Stillwater. They decided that that was a little out of the way.

I enjoyed the entire weekend. Thanks to everyone for the good old DRN hospitality. It was good to see everyone at the race and I hope that I have a chance to return the favor to each and every one.

I just wish that I wouldn't have left my wallet in Johns van. :bang:

DWreck, it was good to see you Sunday. You were welcome to use the boots, though they were pretty wet from my many trips through the water puddles Saturday. It was good to see Swift and John again, too. Wish we could have ridden together a bit more. The trails were, surprisingly, almost perfect. We'll have to do another Kiamichi ride soon.

I forgot to empty your wallet of all cash before I dropped it off at your house. You can just Paypal me. I trust you. I don't know if you burned more fuel than boiled or the other way around?????

That was fun, just enough riding to get my fill, but not so much that I was exhausted for the drive home. If we would have raced like we planned I probably would have driven home tomorrow instead.

Good to see everyone again. Well almost everyone.......sorry you didn't have a bike ready to go Craig. Sounds to me like you need one more bike just to be on the safe side. :ride:

I guess the Reflex was ready to go..... ;)
I knew that everyone was going to have a good time, mostly the guys who didn't have to clean up any bikes, or gear!

John, Thanks for the curbside wallet delivery. That was a welcome surprise. You couldn't have timed it any better.

Craig also has a TTR so I think he was just making excuses.

Extending a great weekend into Monday I played in a golf tournament today. My team won $70 cash per person. Between that and the $20 Swift loaned me I'm doing well. Guess I can hold off heading to the nearest underpass with my tin can.

Sounds like you guys had some decent conditions at Meunster. Makes one wonder what the tracks would have been like.

The tracks would have been perfect, well, mudholes included. The traction at Muenster was outstanding. As for the mud, I'll take the cleanup from Muenster over a muddy day at the 500 anytime. At least you can actually clean the mud off and not leave a red haze on everthing.

Evenslower and Teeds - I had not seen you guys in ages. Again - sorry if I seemed aloof, keeping track of teenagers will do that to ya. Teeds - we need to ride again, Evenslower, you are excused since you went and moved off!

It had been a while for sure. I guess its been a little over 2 years since I'd ridden Muenster. I think the last time I had been there may been riding with you and Teeds actually. Still one of my favorite places on the planet.
