One of those deals where we were having a great time, right before he broke his arm. He was on a quad and came off of a 5 ft ridge neither of us saw. He landed the fall, but the impact of landing and holding on broke his left forearm (ouch). I found another use for a knee/shin guard. I used it to splint his arm. Hardest decision I ever made was leaving him in the dunes while I went for help. He was a real trooper though, 13 years old and handled it with a stiff upper lip. Just wanted to share how proud I am of his maturity in a real tense situation.

Had a great trip other than that. Just a fluke incident. Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Brawley was wonderful. But I don't want to have to go back.:D

Oh man I can't imagine. That is certainly a scary situation, especially when it's your young child that you have to leave. I bet the adrinalin was pumping!

Glad to hear he got to the hospital quickly.
