I cut one inch off each end of the bars and I like the compact feeling as well as the clearance in tight woods. Then I had to contend with what I considered conjestion on the bars with the handguard mounts. Solution, get the brackets that connect to the top triple clamp and secure the handguard braces there instead of the stock clamps on the bars. It's stronger and much more sano! Just a thought!

I installed a set of "cr high" bars, then cut about 1 inch off each side. I really like how they work weaving through the trees. I was able to get my moose barkbusters to fit with a little persuasion. the whole set-up works great and is cheap.

I am now running the MSR dominator bars: Mini High style. Narrow enough you don't have to cut them down and higher than CR Hi bend by about an inch. Not that it appeals to anyone, but an old guy, but they are made of Aluminum and are cheap from Rocky Mtn or others. Cheers John
