I just dont know much about dirtbikes, but have been riding quads for years, so maybe someone can help.

1) your physical size (both height and weight are important)
6' 220lbs.

2) How physical / aggressive are you ?
agressive, active

3) what do you plan to ride- MX/SX tracks, woods, fields with friends or ?????
mostly arizona desert, occasional dunes

4) Do you have any riding experience?
quads only

5) Do you think you will race ?
doubut it

6) Are you mechanically inclined and will you be doing your own bike work?
yes, and to some extent.

7) Do YOU have a preferance to a brand/ motor choice (2 or 4 stroke)?
no preference, not sure of the 2 stroke advantage

8) Do you have a dealer close by your home that you might use and what brand(s) does he carry?
many dealers, all brands

9) How much ($) do you plan to spend on a bike?
not sure, a few grand at least

i think a nice 450 will fit... kxf, yzf, crf, rmz or even a ktm sxf will be nice for you...
you decide the brand... with exception from ktm they are all very similar... the ktm i think it´s not indicated for you since it has a very nervous front wheel... not good for your high speeds...

I think a CR or KX500 would fit the bill. Both are great for your areas of ridding and blow the doors off of Banshees and DS650s. Also, a used XR650 would also do the trick.

Does the 2 stroke vs 4 stroke have any difference during the overall reliability of the bike for desert riding? not sure what most desert riders use.
