Japanese patents are even harder to decipher than US pats. Here's some fairly recent ones of interest to suspension Swamis.

Here's a pretty new one to eliminate your bushing stiction. http://www.delphion.com/cgi-bin/viewpat.cmd/JP00097232A2

This looks like some variation of the pressurized fork. http://www.delphion.com/cgi-bin/viewpat.cmd/JP00097272A2

Could Hideaki San be cooking up an aluminum male slider? http://www.delphion.com/cgi-bin/viewpat.cmd/JP00274476A2

And of course we all know that air suspension will never work because the air "springs" get too stiff "after a position where compression over a certain level is made". http://www.delphion.com/cgi-bin/viewpat.cmd/JP00264277A2

I just read in the new issue of Dirt Bike mag that KTM has been testing a 520 with air forks and shock. Reduced eleven pounds in weight without the springs.
