Anyone hear anything on the updated 4-strokes Husky is working on? I've heard some info on the 250 but I need a 400. Are they going to produce a lighter weight version of a 400 with electic start?

I would be surprised if Husky made a new 400 for 2002. They have been working on/racing the new 250 for about a year in europe, but I've only seen 1 photo of a left-side drive 400 (and that may have been made of balsa wood). The prototype 250 can been seen in photos on the husqvarna.it web page. Husky could surprise us all though.

i bought a 360 2 stroke last week and was in the shop today talking to the dealer. he said that they are coming out with a 250, 400, and 570 all with electric start and supposedly significantly lighter. if so i may get one of those as well. take care.

Like TM-Enduro I too would be surprized if they came out with a new 400/570. When I was looking for a 01 TE400, no one could tell me anything about the 02 TE 400/570. Most of them seem to think that husky had put all thier time into tooling up for the 250. I will say that if it is half as good as lead to believe, it will be tough to get a hold of. It took me 3 wks and 11 state to find a 01 TE400.

I still wouldn't right off the possibility of all new 2002 models though. Husky have always released new models several months later than the other manufacturers, which gives them a fair bit of time. Seems like the have some sort of policy, like releaseing a 2002 in 2002 instead of mid 2001

I read in a local rag that Stefan Merriman had test ridden the 2002 model 4 strokes. The rags' impression of his impression
eek.gif
is that they are significantly different from the 01 models. Somewhat more yzf like in the power delivery dept. The guys in my local husky shop have said the husky 250f will be out this year. I'll believe it when I see them on the showroom floor.

Wow the new TC 250 is so NICE looking I'm waiting awhile but my next bike will definetly be a 250F MX'er of some kind. I really like the fact that husky made it E button. It will be interesting to see it out on the track and to find out what its performance is like.

husqvarnausa.com shows all of the new models. the 125 and 250 two strokes
have new transmissions for smoother shifting.

the big news is the TC250, TC450, TE250, and TE450. all are electric start and
rumored to weigh in at 239lbs. the TC's have titanium exhausts. the TE's have
very nice digital odometers and aluminum bars. i believe pricing will be around
$6000 retail.

Fred Hoess rode a stock TE250 in the 2001 ISDE. i've looked at most of the
other companies new models for 2002 and think that these are the most exciting
of the bunch.

very limited numbers of each model should arrive in december and the rest will
be here in january. i'm told that each dealer will be limited to around ten (10)
four strokes total. i'm getting the first TE450. my dad is getting the first TE250.

When I talked to Summit cycles, they were real excited about the new 250's. Said they think that they'll be a hot item. I may wait a year and see how they do. Get some of the bugs worked out.

TE450 is about ~$6500 retail and for ~$1000 more you can order Marzocchi "Shiver" forks (top of the line units used by Husky factory riders. Based on my previous experience with Husqvarna products, I must say it looks mighty tempting.

December/January still the expected dates of availability? Anyone hear of them in the U.S. yet? Thinking I may just have to shine all this economy-going-down-the-drain deal & get me a bike while I still can, worry about it later. :D I was originally going kTm for sure, now I'm having second thoughts. I heard from a long-time euro bike dealer that the Huskies are as well-built as the kTms. These new 4strokes sure look nice, and the price is right! Come on, I know someone has the goods.... time to share with the rest of us! I gotta act while the wife is still temporarily insane!:p

Wait? I think these are close enough to the previous year's 400 to expect them to be as close to bug free as any bike out there.

The 01 is close enough to the 02? Except for the completely new motor, e-start, etc :). I certainly hope the bugs will be minor though, because I'm not waiting.

Zio, the 02 2 strokes may be here anytime, but you're right on the 4 strokes, as far as I know.
