Greetings everybody.. New member here! My name is Blake Steffy and I ride/race a KTM 125 here in North Carolina. My home is in Charlotte but I'm a fulltime college student across the state on the coast here at UNC-Wilmington.

I'm a very active poster over on FordTruckWorld.com. I've met some awsome people through there, and I'm hoping to do the same here.

Here are some photos of me, my bikes, and my other money pit: my truck

Hey, I know that guy! He took me out during a race one time!

J/K....I haven't raced in almost a year.

You need to hook up and ride with JBoomer, who is now out that way.

XSNRG - I'm actually an International Business major here. I'm in my senior year now, but I'll graduate December 2006. Can't wait! My home/parents/bikes are back in Charlotte, so that's where I'd really call "home"

You ever ride any of the NC Nat'l Forests? My dad's been wanting to check some out

Yes, we've ridden Uwharrie which is the closest to Charlotte. It is an OK place to ride, but of the places we go, it is my least favorite because it is mostly truck/jeep roads and EXTREMELY rocky. I think by far the best public place to ride in NC is Brown Mountain OHV area which is near Morgantown, NC (it's worth the trip up there). They have great trails, great terrain, well marked...and it is ATV/bikes only with some single track. My favorite place is a private place that is close to Brown Mtn called Brushy Mountain. The terrain and trails are very similare to Brown Mountain, but there is more single track, the trails are one-directional (so no oncoming quad traffic to worry about), and they are well marked. You've got to pay for a membership there, but again, I've heard it is worth it.

Nearer to you, I've been hearing about, but never been to, a place called Buckleberry's which apparently has a track, but also has about 1,000 acres for free-riding including a drag strip and a pit of some sort. I've met people who have gone there camping/riding for a weekend.

My advice for the first time out...take your dad to Brown Mountain or check out Brushy Mountain...maybe they'll let you try it out for a day for a one time fee to decide if you want a membership.

Thanks for the advice. We've been wanting to check out both of those places for like the past 3 years. We did make it out to Uwharrie for the first time a couple of months ago. Phew, rocky is right! lol.. There werent many jeeps there when we went (thankfully) we were SCREAMIN through the easy trails, but the advanced trials were just the rockiest terrain I've ever ridden in. Taking the Daniel trail was a bad idea.. lol
