I am in the process of replacing my stock muffler with something a little better. I have found myself a nice yz 426 muffler but the inlet diameter is about 5mm (sorry about the metric, I live in Australia) too big to slip on over the header pipe. I am not sure what I should do to fix this, maybe use high temperature silicone to fill the space?
I was helping a friend install a new supertrapp silencer yesterday, and it used a gasket just like the one you need. It was about 2.5 mm thick, and maybe 3cm long. it was a suzuki part from a 91 dr
I probably should have mentioned that the reason I need to fit a muffler like that is that the bike I'm currently using is a custom bike built by FX racing and it's near impossible to find parts that fit, let alone find them cheaply. CBRob, do you know if there is a retail store that sells the gasket you mentioned? Or would I be best trying to hunt one down from a wrecker?
