Hi All,

I hope every one is in fine health.
I have just replaced the stock reeds on my 1996 KX250 with a set of Boyesen pro series reeds my question is do i need to change the jets in the carb at the moment the bike is fitted with a Keihin pwk38 and have stock jets in them (main jet is a 165 and the piolet jet is a 45) if i need to change them can any one tell me what size jets i will need.

Many thanks in advance
Chris.........

I think thats one of those questions you have to figure out for yourself, trial and error. Read the jetting sticky at the top of this forum, ride it, check your plug and throttle responce and go up or down accordingly. I'm not a jetting pro but I've learned that almost no 2 bikes run perfect with the same jetting.

drop down in sizes in 5's so try 160 on the main and thats all you need to change is the main. i stepped it down 5 on my yz and its pretty good.

5 is a lot try 2 at a time-- you suppose to drop the main because you will not use the reed stops with the new reeds ,and they will open farther-if you dont it will sputter at top end,
use the factory paper they gave you with the reeds
