Wondering if any of you guy's know the years the rear shocks interchange on KDX's. I have a 97 and my shock guy called and said my shock is toast, it needs a seal head, piston and ring. The piston and ring are unavailable unless you want to buy the whole shock, the seal head is available aftermarket. Will a KX125 shock work from a certain year ? is there a range of years kdx's are the same?

Don't bother with an OEM piston.

Have him install a Racetech Goldvalve kit and a new seal head.

Change your shock guy and the parts. Parts are around $100 retail, INCLUDING the commonly available piston band and o-ring underneath it.
