Hello
I just ordered a michelin s12 130/80/18 for my rear tire and a m12 90/90/21 for the front.I have an '05 200 and am still running stock tires.Any one else have this combo?I have heard good things on this combo. The 130/80 will fit without interfering with the swing arm or chain.........I HOPE!!! Hope to see a good difference in hooking up.Also ordered a new set of sprockets 12/47, a new renthal o-ring chain and an frp chain guide.Trying to get ready for the new season!!!!!!!!!

I have the M12 on front and rear. I think my rear is a 120. It all depends on what you ride--sand, rocks, hardpack, mud, etc. For my diet of rocks and woods, I like the M12 rear, but don't really like the front. Because of the rocks, I must run lots of air and that affects everything. Main thing I don't like about the front is that the rocks chunk out and off the nobs. I also have the 12/47 sproket combo, which I like, but again that all depends on where and how you ride. Cheers John

A 200 cc is really not a good combo for a 130 rear. Like John stated above it's all about where you ride but the wider the rear tire will affect your bikes performance a bit. I prefer a 120 but I'm in Jersey and ride really tight, rocky woods and this tire size seems to work well. Although I use a totally different sprocket combo because of the terrain I ride (12/52). I found that the 120 is a nice step up from the stock 110 and it rides great on the bike but traction is lost big time in the corners. Don't forget to have your suspension dialed in for your riding style, terrain and your size. This seems to be one of those things people forget to do and then wonder why they don't get any good traction with the bike. If it's not setup for you the bike will never handle properly even with spiked tires on it.

The M12 130 is probably closer to a 120 in other brands. I have been using that same combo for a few years now and like the rear alot but have the same problems as John with the front. The knobs just fall off in the rocky stuff.

I am now trying the Dunlop D952 front and rear. I only have two rides on them but they look to be holding up real well so far. It was only like $105 for the pair at my local dealer too!

Stolen from one of Lepper's posts:
Michelin size 120/80x19 = 100/90x19 Conventional sizing
Michelin size 120/90x18 = 100/100x18 Conventional sizing
Michelin size 130/70x19 = 110/90x19 Conventional sizing
Michelin size 130/80x18 = 110/100x18 Conventional sizing
Michelin size 140/80x18 = 120/100x18 Conventional sizing
Michelin size 90/90x21 = 80/100x21 Conventional sizing

I run the 130 S-12 in the rear and the M-12 up front. Nice combination for soft to intermediate. A little squirrely in the rocks, but workable.

I run a 12/51 with a S rear and M front also. I am sold on them and reaplced the rear last month with the same. The S rear suprisingly lasted longer than I ecpected and it works perfect for me. I see sand, gravel, mud, hardpacked dirt etc and they work very well. I have not run other brands on this bike so it is hard to say its the best, but i wont change.

Just got back from riding all day. Those tires are by far the best money spent on the bike yet!!!When i got there this morning it was mud heaven.......and i regretted going. But these new tires made all the difference in the world.Needless to say i am very pleased with my decision. Thanks to all of you for input on tires........I will never go back to dunlops!!!

I too am curious. I have to get rid of the stockers on my 220. I run the Cheng-shin C-755's on my XR 600 and my KTM 300. Both 6-ply so I know they will be too much for the KDX. Plus, I would like to kit this rig with higher end rubber since it is new and totally kicks ass. I was thinking of going with the original enduro--- Metzeler uni-cross combo that the Cheap-shins copy. I need to have control in rock gardens and everything in between. What do you think of the M's in the rocks?

Nope, (m 12 )when the soil get a bit loose or soft, the back end is all over. Works ok in the rocks. I like the 756 or S12 for all around
