Hey all.

Trying to get back into the sport after a looong time away from it (1989).

So I'm basically starting from scratch again. Gotta get the bike, the gear and all the other good stuff that comes with it - including fighting with the wife.

First order of business when it gets warmer is to find a spot somewhere where I can re-learn everything I have forgotten and not have anyone see me making an ass of myself. :laugh:

Haven't devided on a displacement or bike brand yet but I have alot of reading ahead of me. The only thing I am certain of is that it's going to be a 4 stroke.

Thanks for setting up your User CP and updated information relating to your location. Grab a spot on the couch and tell us a bit about yourself. How long you have been riding, what kind of riding you prefer, where you are located, etc. We will do our best to hook you up with some fellow dirt bike enthusiasts.

Pop into the trread about the newbie from Bulington and say hi to Joel. I'll vouch for his character. :yikes:

Check out the What Bike Do I Get... ? forum for tons of great info on bikes. Use search and you will get lost in there for days. :)

Sit back and relax as the "dirtbike" world as "we" know it :think: IS a whole diff language.....ignore the inital "culture shock" :yikes: life will remain the same.....just read on,we will guide you..i'm even converted ....just dont have the $$$ to make the swing..

Its a bit of a drive to ride but the Steel city riders in Hamilton is the best way to get into the sport and has cheap membership fees and a club track you can ride whenever you wish...the members are extremly friendly. I stopped ridiing in 91', then got back into it 4 yrs ago when my first son Bailey started riding and he's 8 now. Now I have my 8yr old and my 4 yr old racing, and I ride as much as I can. I went riding at RAGLAN 3 yrs ago, its a cool place to ride and close to you...Also a moto x track in Port Perry thats a great place to ride. I have a buddy that works at Snow city cycle if your looking to buy new, great deals on MX bikes.

I'll have to check that place in Hamilton out.

I know about the track up in Port Perry - I'm actually North of Whitby in Brooklin so it's not too far from me.

I don't think I would attempt Raglan though. Apparently the OPP have been raiding that place pretty regularly - they're even using helicopters now.

Right now I'm more concerned with learning & hurting myself in private - away from prying eyes :laugh:

Bikewise, it's a toss up between a YZ250F or something equivalent in the Honda 4 stroke range. My first one will be used though.

There's alot of info here so I've got some reading to do.
