Ok... I'm new to dirt bikes but not to all bikes. I Did own an R6 for a number of years so I do have somewhat of an idea. I just bought a 96 CR250r from another owner. He didn't give me much info on what he used. (He didn't speak much english) :bang: .

Question 1: On a 96 CR 250R do I need to mix the fuel and oil? If so what is the ratio and what type of oil works best?

Question 2: Has anyone used AMS Oil in the bike? Good or bad? Need some input.

Thanks for the advice.

YES you need to mix the gas with a GOOD 2 strok oil or you will only get 1 ride on it .Factory says 32:1 but most use 40:1 or 50:1 , I like 40:1 Amsoil is great stuff and it will do the job.

I run my RM 250 at 40:1 shifter cart oil called Formula K2 which was made with Suzuki and is supposidly the best 93 octane gas. The Amsoil Interceptor is great too. I run it in my stand up jet skis.

I run Amsoil Domiator in my bikes. I would hate to think that saving a few bucks on cheap oil would cause more money in repairs later. Probably best to stick with something meant for performance 2T and not weed eater quality.
