Yo, guys.
I am new to Dirtbikes and this forum.
I just got this CRF80 so I can teach myself to ride.
Once my daughter grows into it I will give it to her.

I have been having a hard time finding plastics for this bike, no one seems to make the Black plastics for the CRF80.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

So far the only upgrades are Scott grips,UNI filter and an exhaust end piece.

have you tried to find the black plastics for the xr80? That is what they were called up until this year and looking at the plastics they look the same. Did you rejet after the exhaust piece??? It might help.

I have been looking around and from what I have seen the only thing that has changed on the CRF's this year are the plastics..other then that they are the same as the XR's. So the XR's plastics are different then my bike.

I am not too sure how to rejet the bike...would a service manual show me how to do that? By the way, what kind of benefits would I get after rejetting it and is it safe to ride it without doing that process?

Yes, a service manual made by a reputable company by the name of Clymer are highly reccomended if you are new to jetting. They have great pictures and wording for helping you to take apart your carburetor and rejet it. My son actually did it all by himself when he had his XR-100 and was ready to sell it, when he was 12 with very little knowledge about mechanics. So its not a hard job. I barely had to help him on the way :)

And onto the plastics, I am not entirely positive, but when they say that they changed the plastics on the CRF series for 04, they could have only changed the decals, and left the actual plastics the same. So make sure of that if you buy..
