I was changing my fork oil on my 00 kx 250 today and while i was holding the push rod nut to pump the oil out i noticed i had a nick on the push rod and a minute depression. it is located about 5 inches below the spring guide What would cause this is it possible that the push rod is catching something or maybe some shavings are causing it.I change my oil 2 times a year since new, i guess when i change it again i will see if it gets worse.ANY SUGGESTIONS? thanks

I have seen two 00 KX 250's where the bottom out piston came loose, jammed sideways in the bottom out cone and locked up the fork. make sure the two halves of the piston and the half moon clips are still there.
