notched/wore clutch baskets rob power?

hi, my 89 yz125 still has the orginal clutch componets except for clutch plates... should i replace the other parts to get more power? I got this idea after reading the tread about a 125 that goes dead when put in first even though the clutch is pulled in. mine kinda does that, im sure its time for plates again as they are 3 years old.

if u a bad groves in the basket it will make the clutch pull way easier and smoother but when the clutch is engaged it wont make a power difference
