O-Ring or Gasket for 99CR125 cylinder head?

I was flipping through the pages of August 2001 DIRTBIKE magazine and they were showing how to do top-end rebuilds. They were working on a Yamaha and I noticed they were using O-rings as gaskets for the cylinder head. I own a 99CR125 and I've always used cometic gaskets but they seem to tear easily, I was wondering if O-rings are better and how do I install them? Thanks

XTREME... i know from my 97yz125, buddies 99yz125 and my 01yz125 they all use o-rings. The cylinder itself is embedded w/ a slot for the o-rings to set it. Im assuming all YZ's use this method. Im not sure if you could do it on a CR though. Just my .02

CRs use a metal gasket between the head and cylinder. YZs and RMs use O-rings. Because there is not a groove machined into the cylinder for the O-rings, you must use a gasket on CRs.
