Since you asked for info on "how" to change clip position...

Check out Canadian Dave's "Just KDX" web site (//justkdx.dirtrider.net) and in the Tech Tips section, click on the Carb Tuning section. There is a picture that shows how to do this...

I presume your carburetor is similar to the Keihin on my KDX200...

Basically...
1) Loosen the two carb clamps and rotate the carb towards you.
2) Unscrew and pull out the black cap at the top of the carb.
This contains the end of the throttle cable, the throttle spring and slide.
3) While holding the spring up into the cap (a hemostat is good for this, you can get them in the fishing dept of Wal-Mart), use a socket to loosen the bolt that holds the cable in the slide.
4) Once the bolt is out, turn the slide upside down and the needle will fall in your hands.
5) You should then remove the clip and move it up the needle to lean it out, move it down the needle to richen it up.
6) Reverse this procedure to put it back together.

Sorry if you already knew this, maybe I just didn't understand the question... Hope this helps!
