oil fuel mixture ratio

I just read an article on eric gorrs page that said smaller displacement engines should generally have richer mixtures because of higher peak rpms they need more lubrication. but wouldnt richer mixture be less oil causing less lubrication?

Eric was referring to running a richer OIL mix, in other words MORE oil.
