i have had 1 really bad, 2 pretty bad concussions and 1 minor one. they suck. my doctor says if i get any more major ones i may have to stop doing "whatever it is im doing" as he says. one really bad and one pretty bad one were from skateboarding. one was from motocross and the other was my stupid dog. he was chasing me down the driveway and took my legs out.

-just wear a good helmet. like JD said you can get hurt by your dog yea there is some more risk running motocross but I dont think I could give up riding for anything.

a guy in my town years ago tripped over his kids bike and nailed his head on the curb, killed him dead. if its your time, its your time... keep a good bucket on your head and ride smart, the rest is outta your hands.i guess id rather go on my bike with a smile on my face than them finding my bloated body on the couch in front of the tv !!!

Only a competent doctor can tell you what kind of shape you are in and what another injury might do to you.

Only you (and your parents for the next few years) can decide if it is still worth the risk.

Personally, I had a bad one that left me stumbing around "not quite right" for several months. I still ride, but that is a very personal decision that you have to make for yourself.

no matter how much anyone loves racing MX it will never replace living a life where you control your actions. Seriously anyone that suffers repeated concussions should have a serious talk with a neuro specialist before deciding whether to quit or continue. Look at the pros that gave up their meal ticket in order to retain their full mental/physical capabilities. As an amateur does it make sense to risk a life of being spoon fed and drooling all over yourself for a $2 trophy.

My son suffered a couple concussions a few seasons back and came close to ending his MX career until testing revealed he was safe at that point. Now any concussion is a major threat to him that he may have to quit.
And yes you could be killed walking down the sidewalk with your dog but the odds of a severe injury racing MX are far more prevalent
