I got a great deal on an FMF Gold Series Fatty pipe and Power Core Shorty silencer for my 2000 YZ250.

However when I received them the pipe says it is for a 2002 YZ250. The model # is 110-024006. The silencer is model # 020270 and did not have a description of what it fit.

I am wondering if these will fit my 2000 and if so if I will suffer any performance loss (over my stock pipe). I am not a professional rider by any means. Mainly harescrambles and woods rides for fun. Top end is NOT an issue for me seeing as how I hardly ever reach it. As a matter of fact more torque would be a good thing.

I ask because if they will work fine will no performance loss then I will just keep them instead of going through the hassle of returning the items. I checked the FMF web-site and found a Fatty pipe listed for 1999-20003 but it had a different model #.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Oh, yeah...my brother has an '03 YZ250 so if these won't work on my bike maybe he will get a nice Christmas present. Will they work on his?

Just received word from FMF that it should work fine. 1996-2004 are basically the same. They looked up the model #'s and said they were just old numbers that crossed reference to new.

And here I thought each model was specifically designed for each year.

I dont know what fmf is thinking. The 1996 pipe will not work on the 1997. Hopefully you lucked out and yours match up ok.

Then again, the Fatty pipe I bought from them for my 1997 (and labeled as such) fit so poorly you would think it was for soem other model. Maybe close enough is ok for them.

I am sorry...I miss typed. 1999-2004, not 1996. My mistake.

They have a pipe for 1997-1998 and one 1999-2004.

You had me a little scared for a minute so I re-checked what I had written down.
