One More "Bikes From KC" Thread. Last one, promise!

Here is the plan: I'll be readying the trailer and loading the bikes this weekend and parking the whole mess in the garage. This is going to be a marvel of modern redneck engineering! lol Did I mention we got our largest snowfall since '93 yesterday? That it hasn't been above freezing for weeks? That it won't be above freezing for at least another week? That there's a foot of snow on the trailer as it sits in the driveway? That it's warmer in Chicago, Boston, NY, etc. than it is in KC? :moon: Man, winter sucks...

Tony gets here shortly after noon on Wednesday and we leave around 3:30PM. All we gotta do is drop the trailer onto the ball and roll. Barring acts of nature (read: crappy weather), this will put is in Reno roughly the same time as last year-dusk, give or take an hour. I have Strick's cell number and will call when we get into town just like last year.

Strick-Is it safe parking this open trailer with seven (and maybe 1/2) bikes in your parking area? All the bikes will be locked, but I can't remember if you said they would be inside or outside in the compound.

We parked open trailer bikes in there last year. The fence is locked and has privacy slats and barbed wire on top. Also (if you are good at it) you can back the trailer into the warehouse.

FWIW, when Kelly & I stayed at the Peppermill two years ago & were looking for safe parking spots for our truck/trailer, we ran into a security guard. He pointed out the security cameras all around & assured us that they'd spot someone trying to make off with any of our stuff. I was sold, but then again I'm not that big of a worry wort.

I'm getting Jenny's bike today.

I gonna wrap up the packing tomorrow. One more short overnight trip to Abilene and I am ready!

I'm planning on leaving Dallas around 5:00~5:30AM. I want to beat the traffic up Central.
