O'Neal M-840 Youth Boot?

I'm looking at getting a pair of these for my 8-year old son. Has anyone got personal experience with this particular model? These are leftover, new old stock. FWIW, my son is a rank beginner and I'm just now gearing him up for trail riding on his new XR70.

I can get these boot cheaper than either the O'Neal Element or Hardwear boots.

Any comments?
