What kind of bike? My old RM stuff, I really do not want to ride, feeble suspension and no more rods. My CR480, as long as I do not have to drop 1500 for a decent shock, I will race it. And, as long as the story I heard about parts for that rod no longer available are false! Vintage Bob

If you're not gonna ride it why does it have to run? I say race it! If it breaks and you can't get parts you can still put it in the living room on display.....

Depends on the value of the bike, the rarity of the bike and more than anything else, the emotional attachment to the bike. I haven't rebuilt one I didn't ride quite a bit, but I've never had an overly collectible bike and I don't race because my self esteem and wallet don't need any more knocks !!

Well the parts are somewhat easy to get (all but rods) had hot rods make me one. Oh and had the jug re sleved not sure how collectible it is? 250 green streak only made in 71, kinda the precurser to the KX. I think it will look just as good in the shop with the paint wore off the sides of the tank.

If it is more fun to look at it than ride it, then admire away..... otherwise ride it (on special occasions) and look after it like an only child

Keep working on the "darn thing" to upload some chassis pics. Are you coating the jug? My Maicos get beadblasted then coated black. The lower ends stay bare.
