Has anybody here contemplated making their own pipe guards for 2-strokes out of kevlar/carbon? If I can get a hold of some flame retardant resin, I think I'll be making some here shortly.
It won't be cheaper than buying one. Carbon Fibre is a royal PITA to work with and is best left to the professionals. It would be a cool project, but it's going to end up costing you more to make one than to just buy one.
It's been done, and it works very well. There's a few members at (another site) that have made their own fiberglass pipe guards and are very happy with them. I've been contemplating making my own, just haven't gotten around to it.
