For anyone that maybe interested!,i got my cylinder and a couple of pistons measured at a machine shop that has a good reputation.
Bike is a dec.'99 220r done 130 engine hours(blame the low hours on work!),with an 'A' cylinder(sorry to rub that in again C-carvr!!)Air filter always in good/clean cond.
Cylinder measures 69.02084~69.03084 mm( on thrust face)
'C' piston,with 40hrs use measures 68.8975 mm
My 'C' piston/cylinder clearance = .123~.133mm
New 'M' series Wiseco piston measures 68.95084mm
My wiseco piston/cylinder clearance = .070~.080 mm

recommended piston/clearances:OEM= .079~.089 mm
Wiseco= .064 mm
Foot note is :that i thought that the wiseco may be a little tight in my 'a'cylinder,but it is o.k.
Piston/cylinder clearance with oem 'c' piston was larger than i thought would be.
Wiseco 750m series,replaces 750ps series piston. :cool:

WoW. .005" piston/cyl clearance on a 'c' piston in an 'a' cylinder and only 40 hours on it?

Isn't that huge? Why so large a number clearance-wise on a piston/cylinder matchup that should make for skinny numbers?

I'd wonder about the measuring..but the wiseco seems to be pretty close to what it should be.

What am I missing? Where did all the 'c' piston go?
