i currently have an 2006 yz265, my cylinder got scored so i will not be able to put another 68.5mm piston in. i would like to be able to by a larger piston and just get my sleeve rebored for it but i cannot find a larger piston and ring set pn.

i see that max power lists a 71mm piston and tghey claim to only use wiseco pistons. i checked wisco website and they don't list anything larger than a 68.5mm

thanks

Max Power has some pistons custom made by Wiseco, and they charge a HUGE premium if you want to buy one.

Unless the cylinder is totally destroyed your 265 can be replated so you can use the same piston you have been.

i see that the 1998 yz250 has a 69mm piston, what would the difference be between a 1998 piston and a 2006 piston. my assumption is the different powervalves in the engines would mean that they would have to change something on the piston but i wouldn't know what, unless overall height is different because they use different stroke between the 2.

I don't have that level of knowledge on the various years of YZ pistons, sorry. Hopefully someone else will be able to help.
