How much should a piston taper from the skirt to the ring area.
The piston I took out has .0090. I haven't gotten the new one yet. I thought it should be about .0020? The piston is not worn around the ring area to bad because I still can see the tiny machining grooves to hold the oil. Can a piston srink over time from heating and cooling or is it normal? I'm still replacing it. :think:
