piston type

Is the stock piston in a 98 cr 250 flat top or dome style? Im rebuilding my bike and the one that was in it was flat but the new one i got was dome. I installed it and have no issues with it hitting the head but was worried about the compression.

the stock should be dome i believe, i know they are from like 92- 96 for sure, so im sure they havnt changed them,

and dont worry about the compression, if you do a compression test, it will be perfect.... around 180 + is the general PSI for new top ends, different piston designs @ the top still yeild the same volume in the top of the cylinder @ TDC, they are all engineered the same for the same applications

did you have to put in an oversized piston??, or stock bore??

its a stock bore. Thanx for the help, ive been looking everywhere for the piston type even on **** at pics.

97 and up were originaly fitted with FLAT TOP pistons .96 and older are domed .

thanks pete, i called the honda store and they made a mistake that almost cost me! Thank god i didnt start the bike up.
