I received this e-mail this morning. I can't verify it's authenticity but I do not have any reason to doubt the source. Please read and look at the picture. Feel free to pass this information along.

To All:
We have a store manager (Wal-Mart) from Longs, S C who has a ! ! 9 year old daughter that has been missing for 2 weeks. Keep the picture moving on. With luck on her side she will be found.

I am asking you all, begging you to please forward this email
on to anyone and everyone you know, PLEASE. My 9 year old girl,
Penny Brown, is missing. She has been missing for now two weeks.
It is still not too late. Please help us. If anyone anywhere
knows anything, please contact me at: zicozicozico@hotmail.com

I am including a picture of her. All prayers are appreciated!!
It only takes 2 seconds to forward this on. If it was your child,
you would want all the help you could get.

Thank you for your kindness. Hopefully you can help us.

FLBob - Maybe you could expand upon why you came to believe this issue is bogus? I'm not sure I'm ready to just turn my back yet. If there's a possibility that the girl is actually still missing, there's still a chance for her to be found, but only if the word is out there.

Thanks Eddie. Like I said, I wasn't sure if it was a hoax or not. The person that sent it to me didn't know either. Between work and DRN I don't have much time to surf the net and discover these things.

Dear mod, please vaporize this post!

Thanks.

No problem. For awhile I seemed to be getting stuff like that every week. I got chewed out by my old boss for sending it on to him so I got in the habit of checking it out. Its pretty darn hard not to fall for some of them. I guess I don't understand the motive of people that start these things though.

I work with a woman that sends that stuff out constantly. Now that I have a list of known hoaxes I'll be sending her ones that she hasn't seen yet :p She sends them to me just to piss me off so fair is fair :)

Kind of sad that someone would target a subject like missing children and proliferate such a useful tool as e-mail just to get their jollies.

But I guess there's an a454elk in every crowd. ;) j/k elk

BTW - I usually don't pass stuff on. Yeah, like Bill Gates is really going to cut me a check for $250k just for forwarding an e-mail.

Ditto, Woods. If I don't recognize the name, I delete it without even opening it. I feel for Okie, though. He said he gets 400-500 spam mails per day???? :scream:
