I am looking to start trail riding. I have been riding street bikes for 9 years and don't know which bike to get. I am 6'2" and weigh 210. I have been trying to find some information about each bike and I am leaning toward the XR. I live in California and want a "green sticker" bike. Please help me make a good decision. Thanks

The DRZ 400 is slightly better for roads. The XR would be my choice just for their history of reliability. I also think the XR is more capable off-road than any DR.

RMcommando, there's a huge difference bettween a DR and a DR-Z. The old DR350 is heavy, underpowered, and has dated suspension. A Z is water cooled and can be ordered street legal. It comes w/ all the gadgets too.:thumb:

There is a lot to be said for no radiators to mangle, hoses to leak or water pumps to mess with. XR's are rock solid and have a lot of performance parts and knowledge available.
