Hey Dave, what's up w/Portland? Looks like Mother Nature may deal us a decent hand for Sunday!!?? :whoa: You guys always put a great amount of effort into your HS events....much thanks!

Looking forward to supporting D14 Off Roaders at Portland this weekend! Hope to see a GREAT turnout as we get close to the seasons end! Some class championships have yet to be decided!!

I'll be in the front row :yikes: Rumor has it that Shaggy will be too? Hope he shows me the fast way around the track!

Scotty B, however, will not be present and accounted for in M class. Good luck with going under the knife tomorrow, Scotty. Dr. orders: Soak it in-cider! ;)

Shaggy should ride LT as he spent more time campaigning for it than riding it (no offence shaggy but, you have not been "walking the walk").

PTR is a great event and well run.

PTR seems to draw the highest Team class turnout year over year. It's all yours Shaggy no hole shot bet or anything.

I am 90% sure I will be in HT next year on a new 300XC or XCW - I can't decide wich

Good luck to all. Perhaps Dave L. will be in PINK pants supporting LT again

Transam, you might want to check this out. Ride the 2 hour "Z" class and just have fun. PTR is not a typical HS but you would get the feel of the races and it is close to home.

What was it that Fred T. said about guys that ride PTR?

Hey Fred, stirring the pot as usual I see. You made up some quote that I never said in the GLMX thread, of which you have chosen to support and now you are stirring up something about me and Portland here. Well I at least will be at Portland this weekend for the first time ever to support the series, the promoter and to get some points-this is the first year I will have ridden the total qualifying rounds and we will see how I end up. DL don't care for me much already I guess and I'm keeping my mouth shut this year to keep peace and I am riding his track to see for my self. I hear it might snow the night before the race so that should make it interesting.

Hear-Hear Freddy T!! You can pit by me buddy! Just make sure to leave me one of my beers after the race!

For what it's worth...I loved your ACTUAL quote and assertion: Riding MX = do a short moto...clean bike.....wait for a couple hours.....do another short moto.....go home.

Question: Have you ever seen a BUSY bike wash station at a HS...or even one at an Enduro? :coocoo:

Hey Mark, Whats you reccomendations on bike choice for this race. Ive heard its vastly moto track, which in that case ill race a '09 CRF450, but if it has any considerable amount of non-quad trail, ill run the two-hunny. Whats your take on it?

CRF.....all the way. It will cater to your stregnths fo-sho, Grant. It can be best described as an old school MX/GP track....high speed, deep sand....MX obsticles (nothing crazy, don't worry short-nutz). The woods are snotty clay with imbedded rocks.....and bark busters really aren't needed because of "snug-spots". They're good protection for a tip over tho! The track gets beat....the 2 hour classes end when the overall leader gets to 10 laps....if it's in decent shape, that will happen around 1 hr 40ish. There will be a lot of MX guys come out of the wood work, but they usually don't make it the whole race. Lap times will be around 10-12 minutes. If it's muddy, that will most likely change.

Not to say the 2-hunny wouldn't be a good choice....but if you prefer your CRF for moto....run the CRF.

Fred T. Please do not be offended. I was enjoying a few brews last nite and thought I would do a little fishing. Catch and release.

For the record Fred T. never said shat about GP racers

I too, liked the bike wash comment - so true

Good luck at PTR

Ok, Thanks Mark!! Its my little brothers bike and I havent ridden it yet, ill be testing it tomorrow and friday. Im tired of being out motored and the CRF is just sitting there. I just was kinda cautious on running it in the woods, Im not sure how it will do. But if its 80 % moto track and 20 % quad trail ill be putting the first scratches in her this weekend!!! And seeing how far she'll fly and lay over in the air. :ride:

Ive never been there before. My dads not letting me put bark buster on it cause he doesn't want me to cut the throttle tube. Are there any woods to worry about?!?!?!

Ok, Thanks! Ill just go old school and let the levers stop the trees.

NO "old school" is taping gas line to the backs of the levers so they don't smash your fingers as hard-those were the days.......

It's not even 80/20.....more like 95/5.

We even get a parade lap! :yeehaw: I hope short-nutz will escort me around the track for that?

After all this waffling im thinking of becomming a politician :) , but Im gonna race the 2-hunny. Im pretty sure i would have to fill the 1.5 gal tank on the 450 up twice, and my padre wont let me drill the end of the throttle tube to put the bark busters on. SO, thanks for the help, I just cant bring my self to abandon the KTM considering its been so good to me this year.

The 200 will work just fine Grant. Good choice. Hopefully we won't be the only "wimps" there, while all the other studs are "6th gear WFO for only 35 min" and doing their best "T.P. 199/Jackazz" impressions trying to ride a bigwheel down a hill. :)

I cant bash it casue I know if there wasnt a HS my ass would be there. But D-14 HS's come first. But you do have a pretty accurate take on that event. The worst part about that race is that the MX guys can probably make it the 35 minutes, but they dont have enought cajones to go much more than that.... I know casue I used to be one of 'em  .
