Got a new spring for my power valve adjuster (99 RM 250) and put it in and adjusted it to 3/4 turn. I kept the right side cover off to observe the valve to make sure it was opening properly, and it wasnt. It would only open some of the time, and i finally got it to open consistently by backing off of the tension to about 3/8 turn, but i know thats not right. The valve should open and close normally when sitting still and me revving the engine, right? I think that thing works off of inertia anyway, so could my governor be bad? Anybody else had this problem? I can take the adjuster off and turn the valve open by hand with a screwdriver, no problem, but could it be too much for the governor to handle? Im going to try to remove the valve and clean it, but i cant see it opening any easier than it already does. Any help is appreciated.
