Wow, Kiwi just let me know that Chris was riding a Harley and someone pulled out in front of him yesterday. He is in Kern Medical Center in critical condition with substantial internal injuries and at least a broken pelvis.

Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Chris is doing a little bit better today although he isn't out of the woods yet. There was a lot of internal bleeding and some 'tacks' were put in to stem that. He is still in ICU, stable but on large amounts of drugs, breathing tube, catheter etc. To this point he is not aware of visitors but we are hoping that by tuesday or wednesday we'll be able to see him and have more uplifting news.

Whoa - sounds bad.

I assume you mean Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield?

I'll be out of town until the 5th, but I would be happy to stop by after then and try to cheer if up if you think he is ready for visitors.

DBD - yes Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield. I am hoping to hear tonight or tomorrow whether or not he can have visitors. I'll drop a note here as soon as I know.

Sad news to hear, brother. I had to quit riding street bikes just for the idiots that put us in the hospital. :pissed:

I don't know Chris, but please wish him a fast recovery for me.

Eddie and I visited Chris on Saturday. He has been transferred to CMH in Ventura. He looks quite a lot better than death warmed up and the long prognosis is good although he has a lot of PT to do. He is getting his sense of humor back and starting to get antsy which is a good thing.

All in all - good news.
