So I bought a cylinder from another DRN member, and he said its been ported by PC. What do they do really? I compared it to my stock cylinder and it doesnt look that radical, there is no epoxy or anything. The ports look different, but they are different year cylinders. What do you guys know about pro circuits porting? I think ive heard that its not that great, because they do so many. what im getting at is, do they really change the port timing, or just clean things up? by the way, the cylinder is a 98 KX250.

Perhaps its not really ported by PC? Their work is pretty comprehensive but they don't use epoxy. Their porting is designed to work with their head mods and exhaust systems. Its all designed to work as a package.

My cylinder was ported by PC and it has a very strong midrange, a bit more overrev and more bottom. I was very happy with the job they did, and when I got it I didn't think anything was done, but things are changed in micromillimeters, that is how precise porting jobs are. Also, get a PC pipe for the best gains along with the porting.

yah, I got the head too, i can tell its been worked over some, there is about an 1/8th inch spacer under the spark plug. Right now ive got an FMF exhaust, but the PC is on my list of stuff I want. Eric, how would the PC porting compare to yours?

If it uses the spacer its definetly a PC cylinder. Our work is similar although I offer a wider range of variations.
Their Kaw stuff is good, Browny didn't win a national championship because everybody pulled off to the side of the track!

thanks Eric, I cant wait to try it out. Do you think it will do anything to soften that mid range hit? Do you have any idea if they tend to go with more bottom end power or top end? And what exactly is the point of that spacer? do they really remove that much material from the head? I cant wait till I get the rest of my parts and can try this thing out :aj:

Pro Circuit uses a unique combustion chamber with a wide squishband and a deep bowl. The washer's function is dual-fold. It spaces back the plug to account for the deep bowl and because its made of copper it transfers out heat more efficently.

thats interesting, mine is aluminum. One last question, someday I want to have a 310 kit put in, would it be better to send this already ported cylinder or my stock cylinder?

I finally got parts and got her back together. I have only ridden it here around my house and up the road, so far it feels like that giant hit is gone, but i kind of think it doesnt rev out as much. I will know for sure when I get to really ride it and let you all know!
